Hello! I am the owner of Deegan Hearing Clinic. I graduated from Brock University with an B.A. honours degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences in 2008. I then continued my education as a Communicative Disorders Assistant working with children and adults, improving their speech and hearing impairments. I realized hearing healthcare was where I wanted to narrow in and focus my energy, so returned to school to become a Hearing Instrument Specialist and graduated from Grant MacEwan University in 2011. My husband, Philip Deegan, joined his family business after graduation and licensing as a Denturist at Deegan Denture Clinics. His family has been serving our local communities for FOUR generations with locations in Oshawa and Lindsay, ON. We also wanted to offer hearing services for our communities, and Deegan Hearing Clinic opened its’ doors in 2013. It has been an absolute pleasure working with our patients and offering exceptional and personalized hearing healthcare. We absolutely love meeting new people and finding ways to help them achieve their best hearing potential. We strive to always ensure everyone who walks through our doors feels at home and treat everyone as if they were one of our own family members. Being born and raised in Oshawa, local business is our passion, and feel it is so important to support our communities. While I am not in clinic, you’ll find me chasing our FOUR children! We love the outdoors. Camping, finding a hiking trail, swimming, biking, skiing and snowboarding. Outside is where we are our happiest!
My favourite sound: The fall leaves rustling on the ground during a quiet walk.
Hi! My name is Sierra and I joined Deegan Hearing Clinic as an Audiologist in 2024. My experience in the field dates back much further with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Biology followed by a Masters of Clinical Science in Audiology in 2019.
Whether it’s a family dinner, a night out with friends, the song you can’t stop listening to, or a really good audiobook- I am passionate about helping you reconnect with what you love. As someone who was identified with hearing loss at a young age, I’ve collected many tools along the way from lived experience, my Master of Clinical Sciences in Audiology, and my own Audiologist. While I have specialized training in pediatrics through the Infant Hearing Program, I enjoy treating people of all ages. When I’m not in clinic, you can always find me outside with my family, whether it’s playing sports or hiking in the mountains. You can also catch me reading a good mystery thriller.
My favourite sound: There’s no sound I love more than my son's laugh.
Hi I’m Jackie! I have been an Office Administrator and Communicative Disorders Assistant in the hearing healthcare field since 2006. Previous to graduating from the Communicative Disorders Assistant program at Durham College, I received certification from the Deaf Studies and American Sign Language program and obtained a diploma and the Dean’s Honour Medal from the Deaf Blind Intervenor Program at George Brown College.
Prior to working at Deegan Hearing Clinic, I worked closely with Ear, Nose and Throat Doctors, providing administrative support and performing hearing tests. I joined Deegan Hearing Clinic in 2015, and love working in a place where everyone is family and the passion for providing the highest care for our patients, is the main priority.
When I’m not working, you can find me in the hockey arena cheering on my two boys, or out on the golf course enjoying a round.
Jackie’s Favourite Sound: The sound a crowd cheering!
Hello I’m Madison! I joined Deegan Hearing clinic as an intern in the spring of 2022, gaining firsthand experience before becoming a certified Hearing Instrument Specialist.
After finishing a Bachelor of Health Science's at Ontario Tech University (formerly UOIT), I found my way into the hearing health field and received my advanced Hearing Instrument Specialist diploma from George Brown College. I am a strong believer that lifestyles are impacted by the way we hear. Mypassion is to help my patients identify the issues they face in their personal lives daily and figure out the best solution for their hearing. I am proficient in hearing tests, cerumen management (ear wax removal), hearing aid dispensing and on-going counselling on how to be successful with your hearing aids. I enjoy meeting everyone in our Oshawa and Lindsay locations. Tell me a joke when you're in the clinic, I find them ear-resistible! When I’m not in clinic you'll find me spending time with my family as well as outdoors with my dogs.
My favourite sound: The wind rustling through the trees. It reminds me of the cottage where my family used to stay.
