My experience was a 10 for sure! My partner was always asking why I had the TV so loud? Couple this with the fact I also had ringing in my right ear, it was just screaming for me to get it checked out. Because my sister works closely with schools to assist children with their hearing aids so I was not a stranger to hearing care. My first impression of Deegan Hearing was that they were very friendly and professional in helping me with my hearing tests—honestly, one of the best healthcare businesses I’ve come across. The impact of wearing hearing aids has been significant; I can now listen better, the ringing in my ear has reduced, and I no longer need to have the TV volume so high at home – A relief for my partner! Initially, the changes in my hearing seemed gradual. I noticed I had to listen more intently than I was accustomed to, and eventually, I would turn my head so my good ear could be used. My main concern was the cost, as I had no coverage for hearing-related issues. However, my first impression of them was positive – They thoroughly explained what the process would entail and shared the test results with a detailed explanation. I have been wearing a hearing aid for a few years now and I’ve learned which volume and mode settings work best in different environments, it’s helped me immensely. They are patient and professional, so if you are concerned about your hearing do not hesitate. They offer a range of options based on both your needs and fiscal restraints. 

I discovered that the hum I was hearing wasn’t from high-tension electrical wires—it was tinnitus. I found myself constantly asking my wife to repeat what actors in soft-spoken movies were saying, and she often insisted that I needed to get my hearing checked. The final straw came when I was at a live theater, cupping my ears to hear what others could easily catch.   

Since getting my hearing aids from Amy Deegan, not only have I found life more enjoyable, but my wife has too!

Wearing hearing aids has significantly impacted my life. In my job, where I attend many meetings, it’s crucial to hear all the details as key decisions depend on it. Prior to visiting Deegan Hearing Clinic, I refused to use my hearing aids for the last four years, this was because a previous hearing aid “specialist” was in a hurry and did a poor job. When I finally had enough, and decided to address my hearing challenges, I sent out a question to hearing specialists about the issues I was facing, for context, I have small ear holes that can’t fit earbuds, Amy Deegan was the only one who too time out of her day to answer me. With this new found information, I booked in to see her and on my first visit I felt secure, like I had finally found the right place for my unusual circumstances. Although hearing aids help most of the time, they are less effective in restaurants or places with a din, but I still appreciate having them and Amy and her team we’re super helpful in my circumstance. To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, you are in good hands at Deegan Hearing. I have experienced other specialists who lack the patience, caring, understanding, and experience that Amy and her team possesses.  

I was constantly turning the TV up (Which meant others would complain about it being too loud), coupled with tinnitus, I just had to do something about it.
